Bonnie Boaz has been a member of the Focused Inquiry faculty since the department’s inception in 2007. She earned a BA in English from James Madison University, and an MA in English from George Mason University.  Currently she is working on a collection of nonfiction essays while taking graduate courses in Creative Nonfiction at VCU. She  teaches UNIV 112 (Focused Inquiry II), UNIV 200 (Inquiry & The Craft of Argument), and UNIV 211 (Food for Thought), in addition to pilot Univ 200 (Thoughtvectors) online courses and Honors Rhetoric summer courses. Currently, she serves on the Focused Inquiry Curriculum Committee and the Open Education Resources Committee; as well as a Faculty Advisor for the VCU Rampantry.  Her research, publication, and teaching interests include service learning, the teaching of multimodal composition, and the use of digital media in first-year composition courses.
