Frank joined the Department of Focused Inquiry in 2015. He has taught UNIV 111 and 112 and currently teaches UNIV 200 and serves as the Graduate Teaching Assistant Coordinator. Before coming to VCU he taught composition at John Tyler Community College. He also taught courses in American Studies, literature, and film at the College of William and Mary, where he received his Ph.D. in American Studies. His research interests include inclusivity in higher education, the U.S. South, Asian American studies, socio-spatial theory, and contemporary immigration. Outside of VCU, he seeks to address the concerns of underrepresented scholars in higher education and spends his free time playing guitar, annoying his dog, and unsuccessfully mastering the art of making buttermilk biscuits.
