Leslie Cohen-Gee began her teaching career shortly after earning her Masters of Arts degree in Literature from VCU, where she now teaches UNIV 111, 112, 200, English 215 and American Literature. Prior to joining the Department of Focused Inquiry in 2009, she taught composition, American and British literature, French, and dual enrollment English, at St. Catherine’s School, Kenston Forest School, and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. One of her favorite teaching experiences was teaching English (alongside her husband) in Vranov, Slovakia for Education for Democracy. Before teaching, she worked as an archaeologist, with a concentration in zooarchaeology, for James Madison University and the College of William and Mary. Her interests are reading, writing, baking, Native American literature, bird watching, and traveling. She lives in Richmond with her husband, two daughters, a dog and a cat.
