Emily Williams has been teaching in the University College since 2011. She teaches UNIV 200 and ENGL 215. She participated in the Institute for Inclusive Teaching in 2014, and returned as a presenter in 2015. She previously worked as a consultant at the VCU Writing Center and directed the Writing Center Workshop series. She earned her MA in English from VCU, specializing in contemporary novels and feminist narrative theory. Currently, she is working towards a graduate certificate in gender, sexuality, and women’s studies at VCU, and in her spare time she writes poetry, paints watercolor landscapes, and cooks savory dishes. Her research interests include narrative theory, intersectional feminism, feminist pedagogy, and contemporary poetry.
