Professor Galligan joined the department of Focused Inquiry in 2007. Before joining the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University he was visiting professor of theatre at Colby Sawyer College and at Bucknell University. He holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Seton Hill University and an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy with concentration in acting, directing, voice and speech from VCU. Prof. G has also worked as a professional actor, director, voice coach and designer, having won national recognition for his work.
His interdisciplinary research, publication, and teaching interests include adult education, transformative learning theory, critical theory, educational psychology, communication studies, drama therapy and its application to working with children diagnosed with autism, performance studies, the scholarship of teaching & learning, faculty development, higher education leadership, complexity and chaos theory. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. though Antioch University in Leadership and Change.
