Michael McIntyre earned a BFA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing (fiction), both from VCU, and has been teaching in Focused Inquiry since its inception in 2007. He teaches UNIV 112, UNIV 200, and UNIV 299, and has taught UNIV 111 in the past. Prior to joining Focused Inquiry, he taught courses in composition and rhetoric, advanced composition, and creative writing in the English Departments at VCU and at Virginia State University. His interests include looking at American culture, especially music and narratives, from an interdisciplinary perspective. He currently serves as the Curriculum Coordinator.
