Professor Williams joined the department in 2007.  Originally from Virginia Beach, he moved to Richmond to pursue a Bachelor’s degree, and eventually a Master of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Professor Williams recently taught his 100th section of UNIV this summer (2019) and is working with VCU’s Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence to design online versions of his UNIV courses.  As a faculty mentor, Professor Williams has worked with dozens of Undergraduate Teaching Assistants over the years and he continues to enjoy the support of UTA’s in his classrooms.  Professor Williams promotes active and experiential learning in his courses, requiring students to be engaged, involved, and thoughtful.
